FHE

So----we did one of those working Family Home Evenings and started the yard work (I always HATED these as a kid but now I love them). I realize we are about 2 weeks too late but whatever..........anyway we are mowing, edging, picking up the one million sticks and cleaning out flower beds. At one point our kids job was to pick up all the weeds and stuff we were pulling out of the beds and put them in buckets and go dump them in the garbage. All was going well.....not too much whining and then Tracy and I realized it had been like 5 min since they went 30 yards to dump their buckets. So....we hollered and they came running. We asked where they were and Hayden's said, "Nowhere" and Anna (knowing she better not lie) said, "Eating the big cookie that is in the garbage can." WHAT!!!!!! (side note: for Tracy's birthday 2 weeks ago his employees bought him one of those enormous chocolate him cookies that is decorated from the grocery store). We did not eat much of it because the really was not good. So I threw it in the garbage a few days ago. My kids were eating it out of the garbage. OH MY GOSH!! It had been in the OUTSIDE garbage for at least 3 days. So......I started using the mother tone and asking why they would do something so dumb and Hayden goes, "Mom I didn't eat any...that is gross." Just as he finishes the sentence I look up at him and he looks at me and he has frosting all over his face. Seriously----if you are going to lie to your mom about eating a frosted cookie---wipe the frosting off your face. So I ask him, very calmly, "then what is that on your face?" He looks at me and goes, "Uh Oh...I'll go to my room for telling a lie." He punished himself. I was like oh no mister man. You get to stay out her and do more work.....not go lie on your cushy little bed and get out of this yard work. HEE HEE HEE..........they walked away and Tracy and I could not stop laughing, gagging, but laughing so hard. Where did I go wrong?????????????

I am trying to keep posting........craziness is still abounding and keeps getting crazier. I looked at my calendar (yes I still have an old school calendar) and it is insane for May. We had our cute show last weekend with my 2 youngest classes and it was so much fun........they were so well rehearsed and so ready. My kids (Hayden and Anna) were so stinkin excited, they FINALLY got to perform in their show. Then Hayden injured himself. We thought he had a broken big toe because the day after he injured it the entire thing turned black. I swear-- it was so gross.......but thankfully after a Sunday Morning visit to the x-ray machine it is just really badly bruised. That will teach him to kick a metal sprinkler. He has lines in the show and he hurt so badly but he decided to go and just sit and do his lines and not worry about the dances. Well-- we were about half way through the first song and he looked up and saw that his speech teacher was in the audience and he looked over to me and said, "Mom, Mrs. McKinley is here and is here to see me I have to do my best." I told him to do what he could. So that kid could barely walk but he did it!! I was crying backstage watching him so he wouldn't disappoint his speech teacher. I love him..........it was one of those mother moments that are pay day!! Anna of course was the LOUDEST and cutest singer on the stage. I am trying to teach her to blend but when you are 6 and you love to perform.......baby there is no stopping her. I was backstage and I could hear her just singing her little guts out. She wanted to change all my choreography but bless her heart she decided mom's idea's were ok. She is such the little director. It was so great that this crazy job finally got to benefit my kids........I love that they did this with me!!!

Finally.......

K- so it's been a couple of months........I have this issue with blogging without pictures and since I broke my camera in January and can't afford a new one I have to wait to use Tracy's blah blah blah.........I never have it. So.....in a nut shell here is what has happened........

*High School Musical
* 42nd Street
*Bear Lake Spring Break trip from Hell
*Totaled my car-- stupid woman ran red light
*Taxes------I HATE the government sometimes
*Music and Me

That is my last 4 months..........tons of work.........not a lot of play. I will post some pictures when I get a hold of Tracy's camera because I do have some. It has been tiring but really fulfilling to see my students and grow and succeed after they have worked so hard. I am crazy proud of the the work they did.

We do auditions for the summer musical next week and I am actually REALLY REALLY excited. I wasn't for a minute but now I am pumped. We got to work and came up with a GREAT CONCEPT and design plan and it is going to look PHENOMENAL (now I just need to find actors.......oh yea....kind of need those).
